Field trip to the farm

Today for Sonshine school I took Cam's class to Shalom Hill Farm near Windom. The kids had a great time even though it was cold and windy. We got to see hens, baby chicks, a llama, sheep, and baby goats. We were very excited and loved it all, except for the smell. I really think the kids enjoyed the bus ride the most. Jay helped us out as a chaperone. The kids just love him. One of the boys went up to Jay when we got back to school and told him that he was his best friend now. Isn't that cute!!

Easter Fun

We had a great weekend spending time with family. Saturday was a beautiful day and we spent it outside doing Easter egg hunts, playing catch and just sitting in the sun. My face actually got a little sun burned. The kids always have a fun time dying Easter eggs too and this year was no exception. With the help of Aunt Brenda and Jayme, the kids colored some pretty cool eggs. We had a relaxing weekend. Wishing everyone a wonderful week.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all. I am now officially on Easter break, start work again on Tuesday. I am really looking forward to the break. Things at school have been crazy the last couple of weeks. Spring fever has hit and the weather has not been very cooperative, so the kids have been very antsy. I have been that way too, just want to be able to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. I really hope that everyone has a blessed Easter and gets the opportunity to really thank God for all He has given you. Enjoy the weekend, it suppose to be nice!!! In Him, Jen

Sister Power

I have been blessed in my life to have 3 wonderful sisters. We don't get together near enough and last night we did and it was great. I had an awesome time just talking and laughing. The scarey thing is we are more alike than we are different. It's great to finally get to know my sisters. We have such an age difference between us, but finally after 34 years of living, Im finally getting to know who my sisters really are. Deb, Jeanna & Cheryl you are awesome and I love you!!

It's Spring!!!

Happy Spring! I always enjoy the fact that we can say that it is officially spring now. My birthday is the first offical day of spring, so it is always extra special. I always enjoy my birthday, not for the fact that I turn another year older, but for the fact that it is my special day. We enjoyed the day at the Murphy's house. It was a beautiful spring day and the kids had fun playing together. We enjoyed the sunshine and good company. For me birthday's get better every year because I seem to appreciate more all the wonderful things in my life; family, friends, my wonderful husband and kids and health. I wish for you in this season of new life the ability to appreciate what God gives you every day. May we open our eyes to be able to see even the smallest miracles of life and be thankful. In Him, Jen

My Baby is 4 years old today

Today Camryn turns 4 years old and I am having a hard time believing it. It seems just like yesterday when she was a little baby and now she is a big girl. Im very proud of her and what a nice little girl she is. Today she woke up and picked out her favorite breakfast of muffins, we celebrated her birthday at school with cake and tonight she is picking her favorite meal of spagetti for supper. As her mom Im not sure how to feel, Im happy that she is four, but sad that she is growing up so fast. I love you Camryn Jayd Elness.

Happy 13th Birthday Clay

Wishing Clay a very happy 13th Birthday. We officially have a teenager in the house. Where did the time go? Wasn't it just yesterday when he was a tiny baby. The year he was born it was minus 40 degrees. The years have gone fast. Have a great day, Clay. We love you.

Ive been tagged

I've been tagged, so I had to go into my files and pick the 6th file and 6th picture in the file and this one was it. This picture is of Macie(my niece), Cam, Chance, Maddi ( my niece) and Clay at Jay and Angie's home this last summer. We spent the day and night at their house just hanging out. We had planned on sitting around the campfire all night, but it ended up raining. So we played games inside and had a lot of fun. We love hanging out with those guys. The kids always play so well together. Can't wait to do that this summer again.

Snow Days!!

Ok, today is Wednesday and I haven't had preschool all week. Im starting to get a bit frustrated. As much as I love to be home, we have so much to do at school. This afternoon I finally have a class, so Im excited to finally be able to go to work for a couple of hours. We are in a wind chill warning for today. I think with the wind chill it is -30. All I know it is very cold outside. The joys of living in MN. This morning I have been enjoying playing board games with Camryn. She just beat me at checkers and pretty, pretty princess. She always says before we play, "Watch and learn". I always ask her what she means by that and she says, "Im going to beat you" She has her brothers competitiveness. Hope everyone is staying warm. Pray for warmer weather.

Have a blessed new year

Well the new year is under way and I hope all have a year full of many blessings. Christmas is over and we had a wonderful time this year. Spending time with my family is one of my favorite things to do and we had a great time both at Jay's and my families this year. Now we are back to school and as busy as ever. We were fortunate this weekend to celebrate my niece's birthday with her. She was the big 30. Just another reminder that I am not getting younger, but maybe wiser. Each new year brings new memories and new learning experiences. This new year of 2009 I really want to get closer to friends and family, really spend time with my kids without other distractions and I want to read the Bible more. I think all of those things are within reach. May all of you reach your goals in your life, as big or small as they might be. God's blessings in 2009.

I love my family
